Rooted in mindful movement and taught by expert instructors & Dr. Brett, this fully in-person 100-hour Intensive program prepares you to lead with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Whether you’re starting fresh or adding to your movement credentials, this training is your gateway.
Program Runs: September 18–20 & September 25–27, 2026
Location: The Portal – Petawawa, ON
Fridays: 5 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturdays & Sundays: 9-7 PM (includes break)

Portia
founder, lead educator
As the founder of The Portal and lead instructor of this training, Portia brings extensive experience teaching mat Pilates, reformer, and yoga.
Her foundation is rooted in inclusive, injury-aware sequencing for all bodies, combining real-world teaching with intentional, functional movement.
Portia leads the core of this program, guiding you through movement, sequencing, cueing, and stepping into your role as a confident instructor.
This training is built from her experience working with diverse bodies, injuries, and abilities, so you don’t just learn Pilates, you learn how to teach it in the real world.

Jayden
advanced reformer + mat instructor
Jayden is a highly skilled mat and reformer Pilates instructor known for her intentional programming, strong class structure, and seamless flow.
With a deep understanding of movement and alignment, she brings a balance of strength, precision, and creativity into every class she teaches. Her approach focuses on building classes that not only challenge the body, but feel purposeful, connected, and elevated from start to finish.
Within the training, Jayden supports students in refining their sequencing, transitions, and delivery, helping you move beyond memorization and into teaching with confidence and clarity.

Dr. Brett kenny

Dr. Brett brings a clinical, real-world lens to movement through his background in kinesiology and chiropractic care. His work is rooted in helping individuals move better, recover stronger, and understand their bodies on a deeper level.
With experience working alongside athletes, active individuals, and those navigating injury or recovery, his approach to anatomy is both practical and highly applicable to teaching. Dr. Brett leads the anatomy component, bridging the gap between textbook knowledge and real-life movement. You’ll learn how to understand the body in motion, recognize imbalances, and apply that knowledge directly into your cueing and class design.
His teaching ensures you’re not just guiding movement . .you’re doing so with intention, safety, and a deeper level of intelligence behind every exercise.

do I need to have teaching experience to enroll?
No! This course is designed for both aspiring instructors and movement enthusiasts ready to deepen their practice and step into leadership.

what if I miss a weekend?
You must attend 100% of in-person sessions. In emergency situations, we offer limited online makeup options or 1:1 mentorship for missed content with extra fee's

is this enough to start teaching right away?
Yes! You’ll be fully certified to teach mat Pilates classes upon successful completion and evaluation.

is this a yoga alliance program?
While this is not a YA training, it is fully recognized by studios and wellness centers and can complement a 200-hour yoga certification.
